FROGS AND FEATHERS
FROGS AND FEATHERS SHORT FILM
Anna (10) spends her summer by the lake, caring for frogs—just like she did with her father before he passed away. She feels it’s her duty because, by the lake, it almost seems like he’s still there. But today is different. It’s her 10th birthday, yet instead of celebrating with her mother, she’s focused on saving the frogs. More and more black crows fill the sky, and she’s found several dead frogs recently. When she discovers a living one, she takes it home, determined to protect it. At home, her mother waits with cake and presents—it’s the first birthday without her father. They miss him but struggle to talk about it. When her mother sees the frog, she insists Anna accept nature’s cycle, but Anna refuses. Disappointed, Anna retreats to her room. She recalls her father’s words: “You only know a frog is a frog once you’ve kissed it.” She kisses it, and in a magical moment, the frog transforms into a silent boy.
